Landon Delon Byrd, 25, entered into Heaven’s gates on the morning of Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Born on January 13, 1999, in Hawkinsville, Georgia, Landon was the beloved son of Heather Goddard Byrd and the late Delon Charles Byrd.
Raised in Kathleen, Landon was a lifelong member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. At a young age, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized when he turned seven. Landon cherished his time spent in the church's youth group and went on a mission trip to Moldova at the age of 16. Landon also enjoyed inviting friends to church to share the love of Jesus with others.
Landon graduated from Veteran’s High School in 2018, where he was an honor student and an active member of the FFA, raising a pig as part of his involvement. His passion for learning and technology led him to earn a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Middle Georgia State University. Landon worked in information technology customer support at Luma Brighter Learning and enjoyed building computers. He was also a talented bowler and entered many competitions. He was known for his kindness, patience, and gentle spirit, both in his work and in his personal life and will be deeply missed.
Landon is survived by his mother, Heather Goddard Byrd. He was a loving and caring big brother to his siblings, Kane Byrd of Kathleen and Logan Meisberger of Missouri. Landon is also survived by grandparents, Carlton and Paula Goddard of Kathleen, and Robin and Eileen Byrd of Madison, Florida, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other beloved extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Houston Lake Baptist Church with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Afterward, Landon Delon Byrd will be laid to rest in Houston Lake Baptist Church Cemetery.
