St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church honoring the life of Lane Michael Smith, 25, who passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am.
A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm by Nancy Buteau.
Father Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Brendan Thomas and Brandon Hebert.
Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Loreauville.
He is survived by his wife, Ali'x Migues Smith; sons, Levi Lane Smith and Chase John Smith; mother, Jennifer Ebarb (Kevin); parents-in-law, Leslie and Chase Migues; twin brother, Logan Smith (Trinitee); sisters, Madia Doucet (Devin) and Avlyn Latiolais; sister-in-law, Caitlin Migues (Dustin); nephew, Cooper Doucet; niece, Brielle Smith; and godparents, Raymond and Terry Hebert.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Smith; maternal grandparents, Melba and Russell Albert; and paternal grandparents, JD and Rebecca Smith.
Pallbearers will be Josh Hebert, Raymond Hebert, John Hebert, Logan Smith, Caleb Smith and Brendan Thomas.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Levi Smith, Chase Smith and Kyler Laperousse.
