Isabella Stevenson Obituary
Affectionately known as "Pup," Isabella was a lifelong resident of St. Martinville who later spent several years in New Orleans before returning home following Hurricane Katrina. She shared many years of marriage with James Stevenson and worked as a dedicated caregiver, a role that reflected her nurturing and compassionate spirit.
Isabella was a wonderful cook and was often described as the life of any party or gathering. She had a vibrant personality, truly knew how to enjoy life, and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was very generous and would gladly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her warmth, laughter, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was the last surviving sibling of her family. Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, Custer Savoy and Mathilda Francois Savoy; her son, Mark Savoy; her four brothers, Wilton, Alton, Walter, and Bobby Savoy; her five sisters, Ethel Batiste, Luberta "Lou" Johnson, Eula Scales, Annabell Shields, and Marie Flugence; and her nephews, Alfred Scales, David Johnson, and Roland "Jake" Johnson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Iberia Manor North Nursing Home, St. Joseph Hospice of Acadiana, and Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory for the care, compassion, and support shown to Isabella and her loved ones.
