Langston DeJesus Tuff, affectionately called "Lanc" by many near and dear to him, was born August 27, 1975, to Phyllis S. Harris and George Tuff in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He departed this world suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Langston began his education in Broward County, FL, ultimately graduating from North Myrtle Beach High School in South Carolina in the class of 1993. After graduating in 1993, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country at several Military Bases across the world and deployed overseas to several countries including: Bosnia, Iraq and Kuwait. He served his country with honor until his retirement as a Chief Warrant Officer III in 2016. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Management from Trident University International in 2012. After retiring from the military, he continued working in the Information Technology field and was working as a civilian contractor at Shaw Air Force Base, in Sumter, SC.
Langston's only son, DeJesuzian N'Kozi "DeeJay" Tuff, whom he called "Bub" was born March 9, 2002. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Olympia Stroman on July 29, 2006. From his union with Olympia, he had his only princess, Chambre Olivia Tuff, whom he lovingly called "Noot-Noot".
His love for music included playing the drums, keyboard, making beats, and deejaying. He also enjoyed attending car and truck shows, loved working on cars, driving his loud big trucks, riding dirt bikes and ATV's with his son "DeeJay". He also loved taking pictures, dancing, joking around, making everyone laugh, and helping people. Though he is no longer physically with us, he has left a legacy of love to all those who loved and knew him.
Langston was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alton and Ruby Tuff; maternal grandparents, Samuel and Annie C. Harris; brother, George Tuff Jr.; aunts, Barbara Harris, Deborah Harris, Loraine Tuff, and Denise "Niecy" Tuff; uncles, Raleigh Mootry, Alton Tuff and Albert Tuff.

I just heard about this terrible tragedy today. I worked with Langston at ARCENT on SHAW AFB for a brief while. He was a great guy and I remember all of our conversations when we would see each other at the office. I am so sorry for the family's loss, and my prayers will be with you.

"Langston Tuff was one of the coolest and kindest people I´ve ever known. He was a great father, a devoted friend, and someone you could always count on.

We shared so many wonderful memories while serving together as Drill Sergeants at the 3-13th Infantry Battalion in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Langston was incredibly smart, dependable, and deeply committed to his career and those he served with.

The news of his passing is devastating, and I am deeply saddened by this loss. However, I am forever grateful to have had the honor of serving alongside him.

Fallen but never forgotten-may his legacy live on."
