Lannie Bennett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Albritten's Funeral Service - Dawson on Mar. 27, 2026.
Mrs. Lannie Mae Daniel Bennett, a beacon of grace, wisdom, and unwavering love, was born on November 10, 1941 to Mr. George Daniel and Ms. Minnie Lee Jones Thrower of Sasser, Georgia. She had two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Mae Thrower Bush and Ms. Dorothy Lee Thrower.

From a tender age, Lannie consecrated her life to Christ, joining County Line Missionary Baptist Church, Sasser, GA; attending Biggers AME Church, Manning, SC; and later returning to Georgia and joining Shiloh Baptist Church, Albany, GA under the spiritual leadership of Reverend Horace C. Boyd. Her unwavering faith led her to be a devoted member to the church and sang in the senior choir for many years.

Lannie graduated from C.E. Murray High School, Greelyville, SC. She worked at Clarendon Memorial Hospital as a CNA. Upon returning back to Albany, GA, Lannie worked multiple shifts at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for over 20+ years until she was injured while working. She graduated from Darton College, Albany, GA, Governmental Services, 1988. She later obtained an LPN license.

Lannie was blessed with a joyful marriage to Mr. McArthur Bennett, Sr. for over 30 years, building a devoted life together centered on faith and family. She was a proud and loving mother to four children: two daughters, Wanda (Morris) Nelson Sr., Manning, SC; Monica Bennett Kearse, Perry, GA; as well as her two sons, Michael (Nia) Thrower, Ellenwood, GA; McArthur (Lucreia) Bennett, Jr., Manning, SC.; and two sister-in-laws, Lena (Edward) Mack, and Dora (Nathaniel) Dyson, Manning, SC, and two brother-in-laws, Jeff (Thelma) Bennett; Louis (Arlene) Bennett. She also leaves to cherish her memories with her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her steadfast love and commitment to her family formed the cornerstone of her life, leaving them with a legacy filled with cherished memories, resilience, and boundless compassion.

On March 24, 2026, Mrs. Lannie heard the Master's call and transitioned from her earthly labor to her heavenly home. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

Mrs. Lannie Bennett's legacy will forever live in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her deeply.
