Lanny Claytor Obituary
On February 24, 1973 he married Marsha (Ross) Claytor, his loving wife of 51 years, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Timothy Stapleton and his sister, Linda Love, all of Chillicothe; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved canine companions, Luke and Ethel.
Lanny attended Huntington High School and was dedicated to the Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church where he attended and played bass guitar. He retired in 2017 as a service manager and served as Chief of the Waverly Fire Department from 1980 to 1984. He also served as a volunteer fire fighter for Huntington Township Fire Department.
His favorite hobbies were fishing with his son-in-law and repairing old mowers. The family will deeply miss our "Mister Fix-It". If he couldn't fix it, it couldn't be fixed. Lanny loved God and his family. His favorite saying was "Me and God's got this"!
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2024 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Lou Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday.
