Lanny

Thomas "Lanny" Lawrence McIver, age 73 of Asheboro passed away August 3, 2024 at Randolph Hospital. He was born July 15, 1951 in Broadway, North Carolina the son of Thomas Lee McIver and Kathryn Verdin McIver. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Judith Brannon; and brother, Michael McIver. Lanny served his community in law enforcement for 45 years and retired from the Randolph County Sherriff's Department as Lieutenant in 2021. He was a dedicated officer, devoted husband and beloved father. Those he worked with on the force considered him as not only a coworker but a family member. He will be missed by many. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 25 years, Sheryl Harrison McIver; children, Adam McIver and wife Tiffany, Meghan Pate, and Matthew McIver; numerous grandchildren; sister, Gail Buck; brother, Kim McIver; and numerous other beloved family and friends.
