Laraine J. Dixon

Laraine Jane Dixon, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Cumberland Point Care Center, St. Clairsville, OH.

She was born on February 9, 1946, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Gordon and Betty (Hackathorn) Morris. Laraine's career as a secretary at the local hospital was marked by her unwavering commitment and meticulous attention to detail. Beyond her work, Laraine had a passion for dancing and music, both of which brought immense joy to her and those around her. Whether it was moving gracefully to the rhythm or getting lost in a melody, she cherished every moment. Her love for these arts reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life. Laraine lived a life filled with joy and dedication.

A true people person, Laraine was known for her ability to connect with everyone she met. Her generosity, compassion, and sense of humor made her one of a kind. Those fortunate enough to call her a friend knew they had someone who truly cared.

In addition to her parents, Laraine was preceded in death by her loving husband; her cherished son, Dean Dixon and her beloved cats.

She is survived by many close friends, including Carin Kuri, Eric Kuri and Krystal Bartimac, who will miss her dearly but carry her memory in their hearts.

Laraine Jane Dixon will be remembered for her lively spirit, her unyielding kindness, and her profound impact on the lives she touched. Her legacy of love and laughter will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 4 pm until time of service at 6 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, 1400 Eoff St., Wheeling. Interment will be held Wednesday, December 3, at 11 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Laraine adored her fur babies and would do anything for them, please help to honor her life with a memorial contribution made to the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
