Virginia Kay Wiethe, a lifelong resident of Wheeling, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 18, 1945, in Wheeling, she was the beloved daughter of the late Jerome T. Wiethe and Virginia (Bissett) Wiethe.

Virginia dedicated many years of her life to her work as a Sales Clerk at Heck's and later at Value City, where she was known for her warm smile and dedication to her customers. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active member of the Women's Guild at St. Alphonsus and a devoted parishioner of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers August C. "Augie" Wiethe, Jerome Joseph Wiethe, and Christopher Wiethe, and her sisters Loyola O'Connell and Mary Mestrovic.

Virginia is survived by her loving siblings: Brother Eugene (Karen) Wiethe of Wheeling, Brother Joseph (Lucy) Wiethe of Columbus, Ohio, Sister Judy Riuz of California, Sister Elizabeth Smith of Bethesda, Ohio, and Sister Louise Henry of Wheeling, West Virginia. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who cherished her kindness and gentle spirit.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Friday, November 14th, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home Wheeling Chapel. A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Saturday, November 15th, at 10 AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Virginia's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
