LaRayne T. Moody, 79 was called home on Feb. 12th, 2026
She was born on Feb. 10th, 1947, to Harold and Vivian Taylor In
Delta, UT.
LaRayne is survived by her three children: Harold Bickley, Barbara Jensen, and Paul (Teresa) Bickley; her grandchildren: Kasie, Riley, Tayler, Tony (Krystalyn), Paige (Jacklyn), Racheal, and Tarah; her siblings: Dennis (MaryLee) Taylor, Dave (UnaRae) Taylor, Doug Taylor, Phyllis Edwards, Charlotte Cahoon, and Gary (Karen) Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others whom she called family.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her sister, Rhonda; her brother, Sherill; and the love of her life, Jay Moody.
She worked for the State of Utah for 22 years, doing what she loved-helping others. She had a gift for providing guidance and light to so many people. Grandma once bought and planted rose bushes that, at first, looked like nothing more than a bunch of sticks. When she planted those "sticks" in the ground, everyone thought she was crazy because they were never going to turn into anything. "They're just sticks," after all. But everyone was wrong. Those rose bushes grew over 10 feet tall and stretched across at least 50 feet, and she had the last laugh. That was the kind of person she was. She always provided comfort and stability to those who needed it so they could grow.
She found joy in spending time with her family. Seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave her life. She enjoyed sitting outside with her cup of coffee, taking in what the evening might bring. You could always count on her being in front of the TV when the Jazz or a hockey game was on.
In her younger years, she loved spending time with Jay and being a mother to her children. She looked forward to time with family and friends, whether it was a camping trip, family reunion, holiday gathering, yard sale, thrift-store outing, or just a simple visit. She lived for those moments and truly enjoyed the company. It was never what you did during the visit that she remembered-it was the visit itself that meant the world to her.
She treasured all the precious moments she shared with everyone, and her presence brought endless happiness to us all. Though she has been called home, her laughter, love, kindness, humor, and unforgettable spirit will live on in all of us who had the honor and privilege of knowing her.
We called her Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. Now we can call her our Angel. She will be forever missed and forever loved.
"Grandma, may you continue to be the Lighthouse that guides our way through this life."
