Larris Junior Kerns, 75, of Waynesboro, VA, formerly of Gore, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Augusta Health in Fisherville, VA.
Larris was born on December 24, 1949, in Winchester, VA, the son of the late Landon J. Kerns and Ruth V. Foster. He worked for the O'Sullivan Corporation, for 30 years and was a former member of the Rosedale Baptist Church both in Winchester, VA. Larris enjoyed helping at the Timberville Vol. Fire Company and the local SPCA both in Timberville, VA. He had a passion for upholstery work, which he practiced at the Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center in Fisherville, VA. Larris was a devoted fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles, and he even helped coach the local Little League team that was the Orioles. He always looked forward to the Kerns family reunions.
Larris is survived by two sisters, Joyce Kerns and Susan Newlin (Roger), both of Gore, VA; two half-sisters, Debbie Helmick of Winchester, VA, and Alice Merritt of Martinsburg, WV, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his half-sister, Cynthia Foster.
A celebration of Larris's life will be held at the Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 4137 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester, VA 22602, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with Evangelist Roy Riley officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Winchester Area SPCA, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
