Larry Alsup Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hargrove-Marker Funeral & Cremation Service on Jan. 30, 2026.
Wake services have been scheduled for 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Alsup family home located at 205 East F Street, Jenks, OK. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 3, 2026 in the Bixby Cemetery.

Larry Alsup passed away on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored him, a wife who was his favorite companion, and a community who -despite extensive searching- never managed to find anyone who didn't like him.

Larry was exceptionally smart, deeply loyal, endlessly hardworking, and, quite possibly, the calmest person to ever exist. Not once in a world fueled by road rage and email replies typed in all caps was Larry ruffled or unsettled but remained unbothered, good humored, and steady. He had a sharp wit, a dry sense of humor, and a way of delivering a comment that made you laugh while wondering how he managed to be both funny and right at the same time.

Larry also appreciated the finer things in life-namely wine, including boxed wine, which he enjoyed unapologetically and without judgement. He believed good wine was less about the container and more about the company, and he was usually right. Some of his happiest moments were spent at the casino with his wife Carla and siblings, where they shared laughs, games and the simple joy of being together-win or lose.

Larry worked hard, showed up for the people he loved, and earned the respect that can't be demanded-it can only be built over a lifetime of decency. If you met Larry, you liked him. If you knew him, you trusted him. And if you loved him, you were lucky.

He is survived by his loving wife Carla, daughter Heather, sons Jeffrey and Bodee, brothers Bob and Duck, brother-in-law Rick McDougal and Michael Trenholm and wife Patrisa from Patrick and Rhesa Trenholm and Grandson Cayden Gale and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father Leona and Kenneth Alsup and siblings Anita and Jack.

His humor, wisdom, his steadiness, and the way he made life feel a little lighter just by being in the room will be greatly missed. The world feels less calm without Larry in it- but infinitely better for having had him at all.

In Larry's honor, his family encourages you to raise a glass (box optional), enjoy the people you love, and never underestimate the power of kindness, loyalty and a well-timed joke.

What an amazing man to know and work with. So giving, happy, funny and full of knowledge and spirit. Nothing but great and fond memories of Larry. Condolences to the family.

Larry helped me teach many bonding classes, and had the most calm and friendly demeanor of anyone I´ve ever met. That, along with a complete expertise of "The Glue Game", made him an excellent instructor. A good friend always.
