The outgoing, one-of-a-kind, and all-white-wearing, Larry Keith 'Butch' Anderson, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at Memorial Hospital. Butch was 74 years old.
Butch, a lifelong Marysville native, was born on Christmas Day 1949 to James and Rosalee (Callicoat) Anderson and attended Fairbanks High School. He was then drafted into The United States Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. While enlisted Butch specialized in the Infantry Division and earned a National Defense Service Medal. After an Honorable Discharge, on February 18, 1972, Butch returned home to Marysville.
One afternoon while visiting her parents Penni Ann McDonald caught Butch's eye. After a little convincing, on Butch's behalf, the two started dating and were wed on August 17, 1985, at the Evangelical Friends Church in Marysville. Butch and Penni shared almost 39 years of marriage. They enjoyed many car shows where Butch won countless trophies for his spotlessly maintained Corvettes. Butch and Penni enjoyed day trips across Ohio and recently visited The Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Butch and Penni also enjoyed many trips to the casinos; here, Butch could be found trying his luck on the penny and quarter slot machines. Every once in a while, when he was feeling lucky, he would try his luck in the high-stakes room.
Butch never met a stranger. He knew everyone in Marysville by the car they drove; and, if he didn't know them, he would have a new best friend by the end of the day. Always making friends and never wanting a dirty car made Butch's dream job of car detailing a reality. He owned and operated 'Butch's Wash and Wax' making any car showroom quality.
Butch will be missed by his wife, Penni Anderson of Marysville, and her family along with his brother, Steve Anderson; favorite uncle, Pete Vining; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his son, Michael Anderson; and siblings, Daryl Hixson, Jim Anderson, and Judy Nickles.
A gathering of friends will take place at Ingram and Snyder Funeral Home, 975 Maple Street, Marysville, on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 4 until 6 pm.
Ingram and Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve Butch's family. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.IngramFuneralService.com.
