Larry Wayne Ashby

Larry Wayne Ashby, 77, Russellville, passed on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Larry, the son of the late Henry and Alma Cooksey Ashby, was born on October 30, 1948, in Logan County, KY.

Larry was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a Sr. Chemist at Valspar.

Larry was an Associate Pastor, Sunday school teacher, and the Sec. of Union District at his church.

Larry was initiated into the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in 1967 through the Psi Tau Chapter. He was one of the Founders of the Gamma Theta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi at Western Kentucky University along with his dear friend Don C. Offutt. He obtained his B.A. in science. He received many awards for chemistry from his job.

He enjoyed vacationing, jazz music, and going to church.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brother, Henry Ashby; nephew, James Ashby; and mother of Katrinia, Christina Ellison.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wells Ashby; 2 daughters, Katrinia Ashby, Anissa (Darnel) Cross; 2 siblings, James Ashby, Steve (Cynthia) Ashby; 2 uncles, Wendal Hines, Roy Wells; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
