Larry David "Spike" Bantz

Larry David "Spike" Bantz, 77, of Dunkirk, IN, passed away Saturday, September 13th, 2025, peacefully at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. Spike was born in Portland, IN, on April 23, 1948, a son of the late Charles Francis and Wynona Ima Jean (Evans) Bantz. He formerly worked in manufacturing as a forklift operator and was a 1966 graduate of Dunkirk High School. Spike was a very social man who enjoyed watching NASCAR and wrestling, reading, fishing, and listening to Blues music. He is survived by 3 daughters: Kelly Phipps, Melissa Bantz (James Dimitry), Elizabeth Norris (Justin Saxman), 2 brothers: Tony Lee Bantz (Debbie), John Aaron Bantz (Susan), 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Spike was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son Leslie Kimmel Bantz. Per his wishes there will be no public services at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries - Dunkirk Chapel.
