Larry Barcus Obituary

Larry D. Barcus, 65, of Tempe, passed away February 11, 2007 after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born in Huntington Park, CA to Myron P. and Mourine (Killian) Barcus on October 22, 1941. He graduated from high school in Antioch, CA and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy after proudly serving from 1960-1965. Larry was an RD2 second class radarman during the Cuban Blockade. After discharge, he relocated to Hibbing, MN where he met Sandra Jean Briski and they were united in marriage on June 3, 1967. Larry and his family relocated to Tempe, AZ in 1987. His greatest love was his family and providing for them with various sales jobs he held throughout the years including worldwide sales in the mining industry. Currently, he was employed by Catholic Cemeteries as a family counselor and was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Faith Community. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sandra; daughters, Kristin Lee Barcus-Roberts (Michael), of Chandler and Kerry Lynn Barcus of Tempe; precious granddaughter, Natalie; and "adopted" daughter Jennifer Ramsey of Phoenix. He will be deeply missed by his loving immediate family, many friends and his large extended family in Minnesota including mother-in-law, Jennie Briski of Chisholm, MN. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Bueler Mortuary, 14 W. Hulet Dr. Chandler, AZ. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa, AZ. Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. Arrangements by Bueler Mortuary. Sign the Guest Book at eastvalleytribune.com
