Larry Bender, 68, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Titusville, Florida.

Born in Cobleskill, New York, Larry lived a full and joyful life, deeply rooted in family, craftsmanship, and simple pleasures. He had recently retired this summer from the Volusia County School Board, looking forward to a new chapter of well-earned rest and hobbies he cherished.

Larry was happiest when surrounded by family-especially when he was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Paisley and Greyson. A passionate "Mapie" collector and skilled woodworker, he spent many happy hours crafting furniture alongside his wife and best friend, Colleen. His love for hands-on projects extended to the garage, where he enjoyed working on cars and fixing engines with the same care and dedication he brought to every aspect of his life.

A devoted NASCAR fan, Larry was known to cheer the loudest when Dale Earnhardt took the track, never missing a race and always rooting for the win.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his children, Autumn Marie Bender, Joshua Bender (Nici), and Elizabeth Bender (Otis Craghead); and his grandchildren, Paisley and Greyson. He is also survived by his mother, Vivian Bender, and his brothers, Karl, Roger, Glen, Victor, Charlie, and Keith.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Gary Bender.

He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady hands, and the laughter he brought to every room. His legacy lives on in the memories he helped build and the lives he touched.
