Larry Bishop Obituary
Larry Allen Bishop, age 72, of Danville, KY passed away at 6:40 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Danville, KY on October 19, 1951 to the late Elbert and Martha Washburn Bishop.
He was a member and elder of New Beginnings Community Church, a 1970 graduate of Washington County High School, a retired employee of General Electric and a farmer.
Preceding him in death was a sister, Mary Ellen Gentry on June 3, 2013.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Kays Barnett Bishop; two daughters, Kristy Bishop (Michael) Willoughby of Clay City and Amanda Barnett (Deron) Byrne of Danville; two sons, Brandon (Jessica) Bishop of Cox's Creek and Gene David (Melinda) Barnett of Springfield; six grandchildren, Cullen Byrne (Blake) Mason, Gentry Byrne (Chapman) Bean, Gene David Barnett, III, James Wesley Barnett, Braylee Bishop and Jaxston Bishop; two great grandchildren, James Brooks Bean and Baker Elliott Mason and a sister, Karen Sullivan (David) of Mt. Washington.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20th at the New Beginnings Community Church with Rev. Stacy Wilson, the church pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Mattingly, Keith Carrico, Danny Bishop, Phil Bishop, John Russell and Thomas Bishop.
Visitation will be at the church from 4 until 8 Monday and after 9:00 Tuesday morning until time of the service.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
