Larry A. Brown, 58, of Eldorado, IL, passed away on November 19, 2025 in Harrisburg, IL.
Larry was born in Eldorado, IL on September 13, 1967 to the late Roy Michael and Donna Sue (Williams) Brown. Larry was a graduate of Galatia High School class of 1985 and SIC College. He was a former Deacon of First Baptist and a member of Star General Baptist Church. Larry was co-owner of Energy Transportation, Gary and Larry Brown Trucking and Raleigh Ready-Mix until 2017. He later worked for Gateway, Cummins Crosspoint, and currently was employed by Jim Hayes, where he hoped to retire in January to snowbird in Florida with his grandchildren there, and to spend much more time with his other grandchildren. His hobbies included, fishing, camping, ATV riding, concerts, spending all time possible with family and former classmates. Larry had a passion for restoring muscle cars and trucks, and was an amazing fabricator, who could bring life to anything you could imagine in your mind. The thing Larry will be always remembered for, is that he was the most wonderful and adored father, grandfather and spouse. His family always, always came before anything or anyone else including himself.
On September 3, 2016 he married his former high school sweetheart, Cheryl Anderson and she survives in Eldorado. He is also survived by his children, Keaton Brown of Woodlawn, IL, Garrett (Tara) Brown of Land O' Lakes, FL, Kelsey (Bryce Johnson) Brown of Benton, IL, Kylee (JD ) Fulk of Kansas City, MO, Ashley (Jared) Hunt of Junction, IL. Eight grandchildren, Coltyn Brown, Anzley Brown, Hudson Johnson, Hayden Johnson, Carter Fulk, Owen Fulk, Harper Hunt and Avery Hunt and his brother Gary Brown of Galatia, IL. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Jo Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Harrisburg High School Gym with Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery in Galatia. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the Harrisburg High School Gym from 11:00 AM until service time of 2:00 PM.
