Larry Darnell Brown, at age 73, of Houston passed away on December 6, 2025, peacefully at his residence. He was born on September 6, 1952, in Elgin, TX, son of the late Elmo Brown Sr. and Elizabeth Jerrell Brown. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Paula Brown and three brothers, Elmo Brown Jr., Ike Brown, and James Brown.

Larry is survived by one son, Larry Thomas (Britney) of Houston; one daughter, Nakita Thomas of Houston; 4 grandchildren, Brittin Williams, Leyla Thomas, Cydnei Thomas, and Kash Thomas, 2 sisters; Lola Hutchinson of Detroit, Katie Brown of Houston, and one brother, Norris Brown of Detroit, along with a host of other family and friends who will sadly miss him.

Larry was an over-the-road truck driver for over 45 years. While on the road, he was a dedicated provider, but at home, he was known for his smile, his quick wit, life of the party attitude, and the joy he brought to his family. Larry, affectionately called 'Black Dawg' by his colleagues, was a hard-working, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend known for his exemplary driving skills and his selfless deeds at home.
