Larry C. Brown, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 6, 2026, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, at the age of 71. Born on February 3, 1954, in Miami, Florida, Larry built a life rich with love and dedication, first residing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, before relocating to Savannah 13 years ago.

Larry’s career as a truck driver was not just a profession; it was a passion that filled his days with adventure and the joy of the open road. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he embodied dedication and service, bringing the same spirit of commitment to his work and family life. As a member of Central Christian Church in Savannah, he demonstrated his strong faith and unwavering support for his community, marking one of his proudest accomplishments.

In addition to his love for trucking, Larry was an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to the Georgia Bulldogs and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed playing games on the computer, finding joy in simple pleasures that connected him with family and friends.

Larry is survived by his adored wife of 13 years, Ruby Brown of Savannah. He leaves behind his mother, Leander Bennett of Fort White, FL; Cherished children—Larry Brown Jr. (Sherrell) of Columbia, SC, Shontae Brown of Durham, NC, and Lorie Flacks of Durham, NC; Father-in-law, Richard Gooddine of Savannah, GA.  His legacy continues with nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Larry’s warmth and spirit will live on in the hearts of numerous other relatives who cherished him.

He joins in rest his parents, I.W. Curry and Prudence Hubbard; his brother, Stephen Bennett; and his step-son, Bernard Gooddine, who predeceased him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Larry on January 12, 2026, at Central Christian Church in Savannah, GA, starting at 11:00 AM, with the Pastor Lionel Marmalejo officiating. Interment will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA, at 3:00 PM. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.

Larry C. Brown will be remembered for his loving nature, his devotion to family, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. As we celebrate his life and the impact he had on so many, we hold onto the cherished memories and the love he shared, a testament to a life well-lived.
