Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of StillwaterLarry Gene Brown, born on November 17, 1951, to Helen and Clifford Brown, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Larry was a proud servant of his country, dedicating time to the U.S. Army. He grew up in Carney and Tryon, Oklahoma and attended High School in Carney where he graduated in 1970. He made many lifelong friends during this time of his life.
On May 16, 1981, Larry married Shelia Vassar Brown. This union was blessed by two sons: Zachary Allan Brown, and Parker Grayson Brown. They built a life for their family in Stillwater and later divorced. Larry is survived by his son, Zachary and siblings: Bill Brown and his wife Veronna, Betty Scrivner, Jerry Brown, Shirley Haney, Carl Brown and his wife Gail, and Carol Brown. Each sibling will hold their unique memories of Larry, a man they loved dearly.
Larry will always be remembered for his warm personality. He was a generous soul, considering everyone he met a friend. His kindness knew no bounds, and he worked diligently to provide for his family, earning the admiration and love of those around him. His big heart and unwavering spirit will remain a cherished memory for his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Parker Grayson Brown; his parents, Clifford and Helen Brown; and his brother, Jim Brown. Their absence is felt deeply, but their memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
A graveside service will be held on March 13, 2026, at Tryon Cemetery, located at East Highway 105, 74875, in Oklahoma. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, providing family and friends the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Larry's life.
Larry Brown’s legacy of friendship, kindness, and love will continue to impact all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories that will be fondly remembered for years to come.
