Larry F. Bush, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Northwest Health-La Porte, IN
He was born March 11, 1954 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Lucy (Albertson) Bush-Ellis.
On August 11, 1979, in La Porte, IN, he married Pamela Kay Rehlander, who survives.
He is also survived by his son, Lorne Bush; daughters, Crystal Meyer and Felicia Carmichael; grandchildren, Kaylyn Meyer, Madison Meyer, Amanda Goufas and Joey Goufas; four great-grandchildren; brother Lee "Rocky" Lowery; sister Linda Arent, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lucy and Winston Ellis; brother, Duane Bush; sisters, Charlene Metcalf and Peggy Huffman, and step-daughter, Candace Stehle.
A lifelong resident of the area, Larry worked on farms most of his life and then became a professional truck driver until his retirement from Eagle Transport in Goshen, IN. Larry loved to work and just be outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, was important to him and he loved to smoke meat for get-togethers, especially his famous brisket. His Boxers, Rosie, Duke and Daisy were his constant companions as well. He also enjoyed helping people, so anytime anyone needed anything, he was there for them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where there will be a visitation Wednesday, January 24, 2024 starting at 10 am until service at 11:00 a.m. central time. Cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers, Larry's wife Pamela asks that you do a kind deed for someone else, or give to a charity of your choice in Larry's honor.
