Larry Gene Coffey died June 12, 2025 peacefully at home. He was born on October 19, 1937 in Norman, OK. The last 20 years of his life he was the beloved husband of Susan Kirby where they resided in St. Louis County Missouri.

He was a loving father to daughters Krista Mason, (née Coffey) and Ky Ray (née Coffey) who live in Moore, OK from 1st marriage with ex-wife Rose Newby, sister, Linda Haralson, her son Jeffery, and daughter Jennifer of Norman, Oklahoma.

Larry was a National Honor Society member and graduated from Norman High School in 1956 where he was a star athlete on the football and baseball teams. He was the Oklahoma State archery champion in the early 1960s. He attended the University of Oklahoma.

He had a very successful career as a jeweler working for John Roberts in Norman, Oklahoma, and Austin, Texas, and also for Stuckey's diamonds in Norman, OK.

Larry was very proud of his Potawatomi Indian ancestry and attributed his lifelong love of hunting and fishing to the early influence of his grandparents, Francis and Martha Darling. He always remembered the all night social dances in the Blackjack Woods when he was 5 and 6. He loved his family and was an avid fan of football and baseball games. Those that knew Larry happily remember his great sense of humor, practical jokes, his many talents and love of his many pets. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Paul Coffey, Grace Leota Middleton (née) Darling and his stepfather William E. Middleton.

His ashes will be interned at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Tribal Columbarium located near Shawnee, Oklahoma.
