NORWOOD - Larry James Colbert, at age 85, peacefully passed away on 29 July 2025 at home surrounded by family after a lingering illness. His viewing will be Saturday 2 August 2025 at 9am followed by an 11am funeral, both located at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 21 Castle Drive in Potsdam, New York. After the funeral, Larry will be buried at Riverside Cemetery in Norwood, New York.

Larry is survived by his wife Sandra of 56 years; his children Dawn Colbert, Kimberly Colbert (M: Keith Colledge), Chad Colbert (M: Joann Knapp), Micah Colbert (M: Carrie Ellsworth), and Heather Colbert (M: James Hassell); 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. As the last surviving son of Donald Colbert and Marjorie Daggett, he will now join them and his four younger brothers Jerry, David, Douglas, and Donald Junior.

Larry was employed by Alcoa Aluminum as an electrician for 36 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served for 5 years as the Potsdam Ward Bishop. Two of his children and five of his grandchildren have served, or are now serving, as missionaries.

Larry devoted multiple years to improving the lives of others as a Boy Scout leader, President of Kiwanis, and as a volunteer firefighter for the Village of Norwood. Above all Larry enjoyed gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, and making delicious popcorn.
