Larry Mack Colley, 82, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, in Bishop, Texas on February 8, 2026. He was born on February 7, 1944, in Brownsboro, Texas, to Vardaman and Vivian Colley. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Cassandra Colley; his children Christopher (Missy) Colley of Montana, Angie Colley Leddy (Patrick) of Florida, Mark Colley of Texas, and James (Sophia) Colley of Texas; and his ten beloved grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

Larry proudly served in the United States Navy for 23 years, dedicating his career to aviation maintenance and leadership across numerous duty stations, including VA VA VA NATTC Jacksonville (Florida), NATTC Millington (Tennessee), VA NAS Cubi Point (Philippines), COMNAVAIRSYSCOM Headquarters (Washington, D.C.), COMNAVMILPERSCOM (Washington, D.C.), the USS Midway, and NAS Point Mugu (California). His service reflected his deep commitment to his country and his craft.

After retiring from the Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 3, Larry continued his work in aviation as part of McDonnell Douglas/Boeing from 1985 to 2009 at NAS Meridian (Mississippi), NAS Patuxent River (Maryland), and NAS Kingsville (Texas). His dedication, skill, and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and friends throughout his long career.

Outside of work, Larry found joy in bass fishing, reading, gardening, working on cars, watching the Dallas Cowboys while eating pizza and drinking Coke, taking care of his dogs, watching western movies, and spending time with his family. He was happiest with a fishing rod in hand, dirt under his nails, or surrounded by the people he loved most.

He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

Larry Colley and his family will hold a private service.
