Larry Dean Cook Sr.
White Hall - Larry Dean Cook Sr., age 89 of White Hall passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 22, 1936 in White Hall, the son of Floyd and Imogene Sitton Cook. He married Nell Vanderford and later divorced. He later married Carol Westnedge February 16, 2002 in Jacksonville and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Larry Dean (Anne) Cook Jr. of Milan, MO, Jeanna (William) Dinan of Birmingham, AL, Debby (Lynn) Ash of Roodhouse, Duane (Patty) Westnedge of White Hall, Kevin Westnedge of Carrollton, Darin Westnedge of Carrollton, Krista Martin of Jacksonville; thirteen grandchildren, William Dinan, Maude Dinan, Ashley Chitty, Audrey Hornberger, Larry Cook III, Brandon Morrow, Brett Westnedge, Clancy Maher, Luke Westnedge, Michael Morrow, Matthew Martin, Mallory Beddingfield, Danielle Westnedge, Dawson Westnedge; eight great-grandchildren; a nephew, Jeff Staats; and a niece, Bobby Pratt; he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Drak;, and a grandchild, Lee Dinan.
Larry was a member of Milan Christian Church. He was a member of the White Hall Masonic Lodge #80 and Milan Elks Lodge. He was a past member of the North Greene School Board. Larry was an avid gun collector, enjoyed being outdoors, mules, and hunting. Larry served as a Democratic Chairman in Sullivan County and served on the Grundy County School Board. His favorite place was spending time on his farm entertaining family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the White Hall First Baptist Church with burial to follow in White Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be suggested to the Milan Elks Lodge or Roots Youth Center in White Hall. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall is assisting the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
