Larry Cornell Coston

Larry Cornell Coston, 71 of Staatsburg, NY passed away on December 14, 2025, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 25, 1954, in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Willie D. Coston Jr and Rosa Ann McCullough-Coston. Larry was a U.S. Marine, where he was a chef and was champion of the Poggle Stick competition. Larry was also a DJ where he called himself Larry "love the smooth operator". He especially loved to dance and listen to James Brown. Larry is survived by his children; Roxanne Coston-Sanders of Texas, Shari D. Coston of Chesapeake, VA, and ShaMecca Allah-Stevens (Markeith) AKA "Lawanda Coston" of Poughkeepsie, NY; his grandchildren include Khyan Gaddy of Albany, NY, Dontazja Higgs, Jahi Gary and Tazjir Gary of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Jalaya Boone of Chesapeake VA, and 1 great granddaughter Jah'Liya Gary of Poughkeepsie, NY; his siblings include Sandi-Lee Turner of Pensacola Florida, Willie D. Coston III (Carol) of Kerhonkson, NY, Fredrick Coston (Roberta) of Fishkill, NY, Lawonda Coston of Poughkeepsie, NY, Geneo Coston (Shana) of Staatsburg, NY, Tonie Coston of Milton, NY, Elizabeth Coston-Hall of Milton, NY, and special cousin Billie Schroeder of Poughkeepsie, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles an friends. Larry was predeceased by his parents, his brother Avery Coston, his daughter Lakeisha A. Coston and his niece Jacqualyn Coston- White. Graveside services will take place on Thursday December 18, 2025, at 11:30am at the Wappingers Rural Cemetery, 174 W. Main Street Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. Please gather at 10:45 at the Joseph J.
