Ruby Hammock

Ms. Ruby C Hammock, 82 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed onto her eternal life at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital on December 1, 2025. She was born on March 9th, 1943, to the late Mr. Jessie Jackson and Beatrice Sinclair in Sylvester, Ga. Ms. Ruby attended Hillcrest School and Old Holley High School in Sylvester, Ga. For a brief period, Ruby was employed at Regal Bag and Walden Books. Thereafter, devoted her time as a wife and homemaker to her children and grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Allen "Jeff" Jackson of Newburgh, NY Pearlie (Alvin) Sweat and Delphine Hammock of Poughkeepsie, NY. Her two brothers, Tommy Jackson, Mozell Jackson, of Sylvester, Ga and sister Annie Jackson of Tifton, Ga. 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruby was predeceased by her late parents (Jessie and Beatrice Jackson), William L Hammock (husband), two children Ira "Popcorn" Jackson, and Shintana "Diane" Hammock, three sisters Mae B. Jackson, Minnie Jackson, Hazel Black and four brothers, Willie L Jackson, Jessie Jackson Jr, Wilmer Jackson, and James Jackson
Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 10, 2025 from 10am to 11am at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home, Inc. 39 So. Hamilton Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
