Larry Criddle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carl W. Hall Funeral Services on Mar. 12, 2026.
Larry Criddle Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at University Hospital Geauga after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 18, 1949, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Robert Criddle and Gail Cribbs Criddle. Larry was a graduate of Bristol High School class of 1967 and lived in Bristolville with his wife and best friend, Barbara, whom he married on June 1, 1973. They enjoyed life together for over 52 years.

Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He worked as a pipe fitter for Local 669 for 34 years and retired from Fire Foe after providing years of fire protection services. In his free time, he enjoyed breeding rabbits when his children were young, being a 4-H advisor, working with his hands, and watching the Cleveland Guardians and sometimes the Cleveland Browns who never failed to disappoint. He was an avid collector of M&M memorabilia and watching birds out the window. He loved sharing stories about the times he spent with his dad picking up milk for Criddle Dairy. He also enjoyed drag racing his 1970 Rallye 350 during his teenage years.

Larry is survived by his wife, his daughter, Chrissy (Lee) Howard of Charleston, SC, his son, Larry of Bristolville, and four grandsons: Christopher (Michele) Rachkofski of Charleston, SC, PFC Nicholas Rachkofski of Virginia Beach, VA, Jordan Criddle of Bristolville, and Matthew Howard of Charleston, SC. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Missy, and his sister, Barbara (Tony) Quinn, as well as his brother, Ron (Sue) Criddle.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Criddle, and his sister, Carol Sankey.

The family is eternally grateful to the staff at University Hospital Geauga for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospitals.

Services will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
