Sandra Marie "Lenney" Strom

Sandra Marie (Lenney) Strom, 81, of Champion passed peacefully March 3, 2026, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland after a series of health complications over the past several months.

Sandy was born March 26, 1944, in Warren, to the late Earnest and Edith (Angstrom) Lenney.

Sandy, a lifelong area resident, grew up in the Bristol neighborhood of Oakfield where her grandparents served as postmasters and ran the general store for more than 30 years. Sandy graduated from Bristol High School in 1962 and raised her family in North Bloomfield where she lived for nearly 50 years.

Sandy's first love was Elvis, but she also made time for reading, cooking, mysteries, decorating, and making new friends. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family.

Surviving Sandy are her children: Tim Strom of Hartford, Chris Strom of Cortland, and Wendy (Sam)
Chitwood of North Bloomfield; her eight grandchildren, Julie, Jade, Ian, Natasha (Ian), Morgan (Brandon), Griffin, Mackenzie (Andrew), and Miranda; eight great grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Xavier, Aiden, Ashton, Ezekiel, Gabriella, and Myles; and one great great grandchild Miles.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Earnest Lenney, Jr. and Leigh Lenney, and her daughter in law, Margaret Makley Strom.

Calling hours will be held Sunday March 8, 2026 at Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High Street, Middlefield, OH 44062 from 3:00 PM followed by a brief service at 5:00 PM. She will be laid to rest alongside her grandparents, parents, and siblings at Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristol.
