Larry Curtis, age 73 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at his residence.
Larry was born on January 18, 1953 in Rome, GA, son of Betty Sue Rogers Curtis and the late James Max Curtis. He was a faithful member of Blackwood Springs Baptist Church and a graduate of Calhoun High School, Class of 1971. Prior to his retirement, Larry was employed by Omnova Solutions. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved traveling.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ruth Angelia Morrison Curtis; son, Jonathan Curtis and his wife Christine of Acworth; daughter, Jannah Thomas and her husband Alan of Woodstock; mother, Betty Sue Rogers of Calhoun; two sisters, Debbie Toole and her husband Allan of Sugar Hill and Linda Mashburn and her husband Ricky of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Jaeger Thomas, Landen Thomas, Luke Curtis, Sydney Curtis, and Marin Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 6 PM until 8PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
Mr. Curtis will lie-in-state on Thursday, February 5th, from 1 PM until 2 PM at the church.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2 PM at Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Bryon Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Paul Parker, Ron Carter, Danny Fite, Russell Owen, Bill Thompson, and David Cantrell. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at 1:30 PM on Thursday at the church.
