Larry Ray Dalrymple or Rip as he preferred to be called, left this earthly existence November 1, 2024 at the age of 75, surrounded by his family at his home in Kalispell Montana. He is at peace joining his daughter Eden in the arms of our heavenly father after too many years, struggling with dementia.

Rip was born January 15, 1949 in Aberdeen Washington. He grew up in a large family of six kids and Hoquiam Washington. He graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1967 and a year later enlisted in the Marine Corps after sadly losing his brother bill in the Vietnam war. Rip served from 1968 to 1970, making numerous friendships in his role that included taking care of his comrades’ various needs and writing home to families of fallen heroes to notify them of their tragic loss. He was very proud to be a Marine and kept in touch with many of his fellow servicemen and their families throughout his life.

In the early 80s Rip moved to Alaska to work on the pipeline in Prudhoe Bay. There he met Jasmin, the mother of his four children, Chloe, Fallon, Adam, and Eden. He adored his children as well as being a father and was known for his playful silliness. He was the fun, dad and Uncle becoming famous for holding you down and giving you the “CLAW”.

A sort of “Jack all Trades” Rip had many jobs over his lifetime. In 2015 he retired from Lowe’s and began snow birding to Palm Springs in the winter, returning in the summers to spend time with his granddaughters and drive the shuttle in Glacier National Park. He planned to continue his retirement doing the things he loved most fishing, skiing, kayaking, and spending lots of time with his beloved children/grandchildren, family, and many many friends. Unfortunately, a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia, cut Rips plans short, but he will be terribly and forever missed.Rip was proceeded in death by youngest daughter, Eden Dalrymple, his little JuJu. Brother, William Dalrymple, Mother Norma Meek Dalrymple and Father Ray Dalrymple.

He is survived by Daughters, Chloe Dalrymple and Fallon Dalrymple of Kalispell, Montana and Son Adam Dalrymple of Los Angeles, California. Also, Granddaughters Isla Dalrymple and Olyve Dalrymple, Brother Robert Dalrymple and Sisters Dar Harrison, Karen Marlow, and Brenda Turner.

Rip was cremated and will be laid to rest with his daughter Eden.

A memorial service will be held on November 23 at 1 PM at Buffalo Hills Funeral home.
