Larry Leroy Daub, a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Freelandville, Indiana. Born on February 14, 1941, in Decker, Indiana, Larry led a life filled with passion, family, and camaraderie.

A proud owner and operator of Daub Bait Shop, Larry was known for his deep love of fishing. He could talk about fishing for hours, sharing tales and tips with those who shared his passion. Larry particularly enjoyed running drop lines in the river, often finding peace in the gentle ripples of the water. His love for play extended beyond fishing, as he eagerly looked forward to the weekly Canasta game with friends and family, where laughter and friendly competition reigned. He also enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals or Chicago Cubs baseball games.

Larry’s service to his country as a member of the US Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, is a testament to his dedication and commitment. He was a man who wore many hats, but none more important than that of a loving husband, father, and brother.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Delora Daub, along with his children: David (Trina) Daub, Leroy Daub, Lance Daub, and stepchildren Lori Koenig and Phil (Misty) Wallace. Larry's warmth and kindness also extended to his siblings: Marilyn Crouse, Linda Theriac, Evelyn Dick, Delbert (Cheryl) Daub, and Vernon (Betty) Daub. He leaves behind a legacy through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish their memories with him.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary Daub, and several dear family members, including his brothers-in-law Bill Crouse, Roy Theriac, Perry Dick, and his great-grandchildren, Gregory Albert Daub and Alexandria Rose Graham.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to nephew Mark Gardner and niece Tina Richards for their unwavering dedication and support during this time. Larry Daub will be remembered not just for his love of fishing, but for the joy he brought to all who knew him. He leaves behind a community enriched by his presence and a family forever grateful for his love. There are no scheduled services at this time. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Larry and his family.
