Larry Davis was born on July 6th, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the third child born to Rose and Lynn Davis. He was raised by his stepmother Evelyn Davis after his mother passed away at an early age. He grew up on the north side of Chicago near the Cabrini-Green projects.

He met the love of his life Gloria Davis through his passion for music. They were both in a singing group in high school. He married her on December 21st, 1970, and stayed married for 55 years.

Over the years Larry devoted his time being a strong father figure and mentor to his family. In 1988 he was blessed to raise his only son Isaac Davis. Larry moved to Bellwood in 1991 where he became a valued member of the community and neighborhood for over 20 years.

He was a die-hard Bears, Bulls and White Sox fan and his love for music was unparalleled. In his later years after he retired, he loved to DJ, host bingo and helped everyone with any odd jobs he could at the Senior Suites of Bellwood.
