Larry worked on and drove semi's most of his life. He operated the transport company "Dowling Enterprises " for several years then he started Larry's Diesel & Tire Service. On December 23, 2002 he married Thelma Daley, the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alton Dowling; and 2 sisters-in-law, Lucy Daley Dowling and Kaye Dowling.
He is survived by his wife Thelma Daley Dowling; two sons, Larry Daniel Dowling Jr. and Brandon Dowling (Kara); two grandchildren, Brandon Jr. and Lanie; a daughter, Stephanie Pinard (Gary); a granddaughter, Jessica Donaldson (Adam); three great grandchildren, Cohen, Avery and Anna; five siblings, Allen Dowling, June Benefield (Sidney), Acie Dowling (Sybil), Jimmy Dowling (Denise), Cathy Aker-Dowling (Duncan); a sister-in-law, Saundra Dowling. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Cemetery in Schlatterville GA on Saturday October 25, 2025 @ 11:00 am.
