Mr. William Roger Howell, 81, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday morning, October 19, 2025.
Born March 29, 1944, at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, Roger was the son of the late William Hodge Howell and Mary Elizabeth Carr Howell. He proudly dedicated 32 years of service as a carman with CSX Railroad before retiring in 1998.
Roger was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid bass fisherman who loved being outdoors and was known for his enthusiasm on the dance floor at the local VFW. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Howell.
Left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Lynda Lydia Davis Howell of Waycross; his children, Lloyd Sermons (Emily), Mitchell Howell (Elese), Michelle Howell (Wendy), James Davis (Cathy), D'won Davis, and Teresa Chaney (Virgil); grandchildren, Grace Sermons, Cortland Sermons, Journie Sermons, Sarah Gordon, Kaitlyn Steedley, Avery Howell, Kate Howell, Everly Howell, Lyla Grace Howell, Deanna Peacock (Storm), Dustyn Batten, Scott Singletary, Brandi Caswell (Casey), Michael Ryan, Christopher Chaney, Kaitlyn Hamelin, Donald Sears, Jonathan Sears, and Payton Hunter (Megan); and great-grandchildren, Sarah Murray, Rebekah Peacock, Abi Peacock, Benton Peacock, Bryson Sermons, Sunni Kincade, Ayden Crews, Aleeah Eason, Anslee Sironen, Carson Caswell, Jayden Ryan, Maegan Dryden, Kolton Sears, Ellie Hunter, and Margaret Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Hayes (Richard); his brother, Dennis Howell (Joann Crews); special nephew, Scott Collins (Stephanie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, memorialization will be by cremation.
