Larry Lee Dumbauld, 73, of Chillicothe passed at 5:56 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born September 6, 1949 to the late Frederick W. and Lila Maxine Brooks Dumbauld. He was married for 52 years to his loving wife, Catherine A. Cox. They married on January 9, 1971 at the First Presbyterian Church in Chillicothe.
Surviving are sons, David (Waynette Cox) Dumbauld of Chillicothe and Matthew (Thalia Ricci) Dumbauld of Columbus; sister, Ann L. Gingerich of Creola, and her children, Margaret, Heather, Christina and Erica; brother, Dennis B. (Josie) Dumbauld of Weatherford, TX, and their children, James, Carrie and Libby; uncle, John (Linda) Brooks of Alexandria; aunt, Maryl Dumbauld of Wellsville. He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Lawrence Gingerich.
Larry graduated from Chillicothe High School class of 1967; he also was a graduate of The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era, stationed in South Korea. Larry was a member of Walnut Street U.M.C. and was a former employee of the Chillicothe Telephone Company, and later retired as a sales rep. for the Ohio Lottery.
Larry was an avid reader, loved playing golf and was a Nascar fan. He, also, rooted for The Ohio State football and basketball teams.
The family has requested that any memorial contributions be made in memory of Larry to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or the American Heart Association P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
Funeral services will be held 2p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Military rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and family may call from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, March 6.
