Larry Joe Edgell

Larry Joe Edgell, 85 years old, passed away on February 7, 2025 at his home in Norfolk, VA., with his loving fiancée and caregiver Irene Schoenfeld by his side. Larry was born in Folsom, WV. but traveled the world extensively.
Larry was a retired military veteran of 35 years in both Navy and Merchant Marines. He was a Chef and baker on board ships for 600.
He enjoyed his military time as well as his retirement with Reenie (Irene), their furry child, Bobo, and family. He also enjoyed trips to Hatteras and Chincoteague Island, NC. A member of the American Legion and VFW, he loved "happy hour" and reminiscing with military buddies.
Surviving family are his son, Christopher Edgell; granddaughter, Samatha (Scott) baker; Great-grandchildren: Jordan, Bralen, Peighton, and Regan. Siblings are Orie Edgell, Judy Burkle, Connie Higgins, Camela Smith, Jeannie Mays, and along with twenty-one Nieces and nephew.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Audra Edgell, father, Hershell Edgell, sister, Patsy Trader, and brother, Roger Edgell.
A Celebration of Life for Larry is planned on May 17, 2025 at the Fleet Reserve Club 60 in Norfolk, VA. from 3-6.
