Ronald E. Harriman

Ronald (Ron) Edward Harriman, 99, passed away on December 27, 2025. A native of Pulaski Virginia, he was born November 17, 1926, to the late Harbert Garland Harriman and Fannie Wheeling Harriman of Pulaski Virginia.
Ron was married to his beloved wife Elsie McGuire Harriman until her passing in 2012. They were married for 62 years.
He is survived by; one son Richard Edward Harriman and wife Chau Kim Harriman of Virginia Beach, VA and their family including his two grandchildren. One Daughter Anne Kathryn Harriman of Virginia Beach. One sister-in-law, Margie McGuire of Rocky Mount, VA, seven nephews and three nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Bernard (Bernie) Harriman and two sisters; Evelyn Harriman, Mary Jayne Harriman.
He retired as an Engineering-Draftsman at Norfolk Southern after 30 years. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Fellowship Sunday school class. He was a devout woodworker. Former Scoutmaster of Troop 362 (1968-1970) at Community United Methodist Church and while he was Scoutmaster the Troop won many awards.
For 36 years, Ron and his wife Elsie hosted in their home the Homestead Neighborhood Christmas for the children of the neighborhood. Every year Ron made Christmas Ornaments for the neighbor children; over the years the ornaments have become heirlooms in many of the Homestead homes. For his service to the Homestead neighborhood, he was known as the "Mayor" of Homestead.
There will be a burial service a Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, VA, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11AM. There will also be a Memorial Service at Community United Methodist Church, February 15, 2026, at 2PM.
