Larry Don Franklin, 67, of Wellington, KS, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita with family by his side.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Oxford Funeral Service, graveside services will follow at the Udall Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to Speed the Light, donations may be left in the care of the funeral home.

Larry was born on November 8, 1958, in Wellington, KS to parents Don Philip and Elaine Jo Franklin. He graduated from Udall High School in 1976, after high school to pursue his dream of flying, he chose to attend Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to become an A&P mechanic and pursue a pilot's license. After graduation, he began working at Beechcraft in Wichita, Later, he worked at the Wellington Airport as an A&P. A while after that, due to medical issues, he began custodial work at Southwestern College in Winfield before medically retiring. Larry enjoyed building model airplanes, flying planes when he was able, photography, and studying God's Word, and he attended Wings as Eagles Church for several years.

He is survived by his brothers, Lyle Franklin and wife Kristine, and Leslie Franklin and wife Renee; nieces and nephews Felecia, Joshua, Kaleb, Joy, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Noah, Nyle, Lacey, Levi, and Shannon; and great-nieces and nephews Brentley, Baylor, Briggs, Jayden, Jexten, Shelbie, Aspen, Kaden, Sakara, Crew, and Bella.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
