Larry Grayson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mt. Olive Funeral Home - Hugo on Nov. 24, 2025.
Larry Edward Grayson, cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 81, at his home in Powderly, Texas. Born on November 7, 1944, in Kiomatia, Texas, Larry was a man of strength and dedication throughout his life, exemplifying what it meant to be hard-working and committed to his family.
Larry was the beloved son of Leonard Preston Grayson and Mamie Lois (Sharrock) Grayson. Larry married Sarah Margaret Justice, his lifelong love, who recently predeceased him. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a bond that not even time could diminish. Larry's hard-working nature and devotion to his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
Larry's career as a lineman for Lamar County Electric showcased his dedication and commitment to serving others. He approached his work with the same diligence that defined his character. That character extended beyond his profession; he found joy in simply hunting and working, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and be in the great outdoors.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sherry Kinnamon, and her husband Vincent of Durant, Oklahoma; his sons, Marty Grayson of Paris, Texas, and Clinton Grayson of Powderly, Texas. Larry's grandchildren Nicholas Grayson and Ashlynn Grayson brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his brothers Harold Grayson and wife Linda, Roger Grayson and wife Glenda, and his sister Juanell Lovell and husband Ray.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Margaret, who was the love of his life, as well as by his parents, his brothers Glen and Jerry Grayson, and his cherished grandson, Kevin Ross Floyd. Despite the profound loss of these loved ones, Larry's legacy will continue to thrive through those he leaves behind.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Lauren Gordon of Waterford Hospice for her compassionate care during this difficult time. The support she provided was invaluable and brought comfort to Larry and his family.
As we honor Larry Edward Grayson, we will cherish the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared.
May he rest in peace.
