Larry Green Sr. Obituary
Larry D. Green Sr. has gone home to be with the Lord and his daughter Michelle on June 11, 2024. After the Lord, his family was his whole life. He was the ultimate Santa, the Easter egg reward man, the quarter guy at OC Café and the best smelling grandpa. He was born June 13, 1943, to Jerry and Pat Green. Larry had two siblings, a sister Vicky, and brother Dan (deceased). He married the love of his life, Kay Lyn (Butz) on October 27, 1962. They have five beautiful children, seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with two on the way. Along with his wife, Kay, he leaves behind a daughter, Angela and Ray Olson, daughter, Michelle green Ellenberger (deceased), son, Larry (Lolita) Green, daughter, Kristin Green Sizer (Michael Crandell), and son, Ryan (Kathy) Green. Grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa (John), Austin, Lauren, Larry III, Meg (Jimmy), Chloe, Sydney, Kassidy, Liam, Kayte (Drew), Kolton (Jordain), Koy, Heidi, Devyn (Ellyssa), Mason, and Cannon along with nine great grandchildren (two more on the way). In-laws, Ruth and Robert Butz (deceased) and sisters-in-law, Barbara, Jill and Susan. Many nieces and nephews.
He attended John Adams Hight School and Penn High School (where he graduated class of 1961). After high school he worked at Rockwell Standard where he started his apprenticeship in tool and die. He then worked twenty years at Miles/Bayer as a machinist and later as a maintenance manager of citrics where he retired. He then went back to work at Ventline, Robert Weed Plywood and eventually at AM General in quality control where he finally officially retired. He was one of the few people over his career who carried five different journeymen's skilled trades cards.
He was a regular member of East United Methodist Church, and they were his second family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at East United Methodist Church 1621 E. 3rd St. Mishawaka, In 46544 with Funeral services to follow at 12:00 noon in the church. The burial will follow in Fairview cemetery.

Larry was the nicest man, if I walked down the stairs, instead of taking the lift, if he was near he watched me to make sure I didn't need help. Always a gentleman. We will miss him.
