Patrick Larimer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hahn Funeral Home on Mar. 18, 2026.
Patrick Allen Larimer, 88, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Goshen and grew up in Mishawaka, where he built a life defined by hard work and devotion to family.

In his early years, Patrick hitchhiked across the US, embracing adventure. He later enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged, serving his country with pride.

Patrick entered the furniture business with his brother, and together they opened and operated several stores over the years.

Patrick shared a remarkable 62-year marriage with his beloved wife, Vivian (Macready) Larimer who survives him. He is also survived by his daughters, Karen Larimer and Jill Larimer (Michael Dunfee). He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther E. and Chleora (Colwell) Larimer. He is also preceded in death by his step-father, Al DeCaussemaker, his brother, Daniel Larimer; sister, Dawn (Larimer) Brasseur; and brother, Michael Larimer.

Patrick will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the joy he brought to others. He had a lifelong passion for cars, he loved all kinds, could fix almost anything with an engine, and took pride in owning and restoring antique automobiles. He also loved working in his yard and took pride in his lawn. He was a devoted Chicago Bears fan and an American history enthusiast with a special interest in Abraham Lincoln.

Patrick will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor and being a wonderful father and husband. His life was a testament to commitment to his country, his work, and most importantly, his family.

Per his wishes, a cremation is set to take place, services will be scheduled at a later date. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements and extends their deepest sympathies to the Larimer family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
