Larry High, age 72 of Gatesville, devoted father, husband, and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2024.  He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, work ethic, dedication, and perseverance.    

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Crestwood Vineyard Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with his niece, Associate Pastor Angie Whiting officiating.  

Larry Dale High was born on September 1, 1951 to Harold and Norma High in Sunnyside, Washington.  He grew up and attended school in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and graduated from Midwest City High School.  In 1972, he married Kathy Kirk and the two made their home in Del City, Oklahoma. After attending college, he went to work for Oklahoma Gas and Electric, working his way up in the company and retiring after 42 years of service. One of the many things Larry loved was cruising in his convertibles with the top down and riding his motorcycle.  He also loved hunting, gun shows, classic car shows, and spending time with friends and family.    

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Veleta Volinski; granddaughter, Brooklyn High; and former wife, Janice High.  

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Christopher High and wife, Lori, Phillip High and wife, Sherry, Clifton Gill and wife, Shera; daughters, Marquea Goen, and Chevi and husband, J.J. Atterbury; brother, Timothy High and wife, Sally; sister, Laveda Whiting; 17 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.    

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Brooklyn High Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O F&M Bank, 2211 S. Division Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.
