Craig High Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Solimine Funeral Homes - Broadway on Jan. 29, 2026.
Craig James High, age 51, of Lynn, passed away at home in his sleep on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was the son of Maria C. (Monteiro) High and the late James Craig High. He was a lifelong Lynn resident and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1992.

Craig worked as a chef at Gordon College, and prior to that had worked for Aramark Food Service. He had a lifelong love of basketball and began playing in elementary school. During his time at Lynn English, he received numerous awards and recognitions for basketball, including being nominated as a McDonald's All-American. He was the first 1000-point scorer in the history of Lynn English High School. He also played for the Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) as well as several competitive AAU and All-Star teams. He later went on to coach his daughter's basketball team at KIPP Academy as well as the High Stars AAU team. Craig was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Lakers fan and loved watching both teams play.

Craig will be remembered as a tremendous storyteller with a great laugh. His personality drew people to him. He was loved by all, and he will be greatly missed by his loving family and his numerous friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Serena High and her mother, Catherine Cabrera; his longtime partner, Maritza Caraballo; his sister, Christina Lessard and her husband Jared; his nephew, Jakiery Lessard; his cousins, Starr High, Scott High, and Anthony Mendes; his aunts and uncles, Barbara Monteiro, Michael Monteiro, Joe Monteiro and Michelle High-Chambers and her husband Robb; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly.

His visiting hours will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10AM-2PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association in memory of his late grandmother Ernestine Monteiro. www.alz.org

Craig was such a good Chef here for us at Metz Culinary / Gordon College. His warm smile and manner was such a reflection of his beautiful soul. He loved making top shelf Omelettes for our students.
