Larry D. Holmer

1942 - 2025

Hustisford, WI - Larry D. Holmer of Hustisford passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the age of 83. He was born on October 5, 1942, in Milaca, Minnesota, the son of William and Edith (nee Berglund) Holmer. He grew up and attended school in Milaca, MN, and graduated in 1960 from Milaca High School. He moved to Rockford, Illinois and met his future wife; he was united in marriage to Marilyn Rae Cox on August 10, 1963. He proudly served in the Illinois National Guard from October 1962 to July 1968. He worked at Sundstrand in Belvidere, IL where he raised his 3 daughters. He retired and moved to Longville, MN and then to Bemidji, MN. He was Commander of the Belvidere American Legion Post 77 for many years. Larry loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, traveling and watching sport programs on the tv with his wife. He had his favorite car- a 1959 Ford Skyliner, He loved going to car shows and on cruises. He enjoyed his special cat Shadow and his new kitten Spot.

Larry is survived by his wife Marilyn Holmer, children Lana (Brian) Frank, Lisa (James) Bosse, Loraine (Kurtis) Taylor, grandchildren Rebecca (Dustin) Woock, Brianna, Sarah, Ericka, Matthew, Kari, Amber (Austin) Zajichek, Mason (Melissa) Taylor, Amanda (Trevor) Van Buren, Tia-Lee (Jonathan) Ashley, great-grandchildren Timothy, Connor, Owen, Alice, Luke, Samuel, Alaina, JJ, Triston, Tekoa and many nieces, nephews and relatives.

Preceded in death by his parents William and Edith, brothers Sheldon, Kenny, Jimmy, Bobby, and sisters Joyce, June, Janie, and Marion.

Memorial Service for Larry will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226. S. Main Street Hartford, WI 53027.

Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m.- 10:45 a.m.

Committal will take place at Hustisford Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.

Memorials to, Watertown Humane Society, Wellspring Community Church, or any charity of choice would be appreciated.
