Larry Ide Obituary

Larry Ide (1946-2026)

Larry Ide, 80, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was born on February 4, 1946, in Macomb, Illinois, to Ora Ide and Virginia (Hendrickson) Ide.

Larry lived a life full of movement, hard work, and deep connections to the people and places he loved. As a young boy, he experienced life in many places - Macomb, Illinois; Casper, Wyoming; Arizona; Colorado; and Texas - before his family eventually settled in Casper, where he graduated from Natrona County High School in 1964. Those early years helped shape his independence and resilience.

He later married and moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he welcomed two daughters Shawn and Krista and began building the foundation of the family. Life eventually led him back to Colorado, where he worked for Albertsons before he started his own construction company. Larry took pride in working with his hands, solving problems, and creating something lasting through his work.

Over the years, his family grew to include his sons, Aaron Ide and Tim Ide, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.

Larry felt most at home outdoors. Whether hiking, fishing, snow skiing, or water skiing, he loved being active and surrounded by nature. Many of those adventures were shared with his longtime friend, Bob Patzek, creating memories and stories that lasted a lifetime.

He is survived by his children, Krista (Steve), Shawn (Brian), Aaron Ide, and Tim Ide; his brother, Jack Ide (Linda); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Virginia Ide; his sisters, Connie Pond and Karen Wilson; and his brother, Steve Powell.

Larry's life was one of hard work, and appreciation for the outdoors. His story lives on through the people who loved him and the memories they carry forward.
