Larry Wade Jacobsen, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on February 16, 2026.

Born on July 30, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Larry was the beloved son of Lester P. Jacobsen and Rena M. (Donaldson) Jacobsen. He was raised with strong Midwestern values that guided him throughout his life - integrity, loyalty, and a steadfast commitment to family and country.

Larry proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His years of service reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism, qualities that remained evident in the way he lived his life long after his military service concluded. He carried himself with quiet strength and earned the respect of those who knew him.

Following his time in the Navy, Larry built a life centered on hard work and devotion to those he loved. He was an executive chef at Westin Hotel and Hilton Hotel in Indianapolis. His culinary profession started in St. Louis, MO continuing in Cleveland, OH and settling in Indianapolis where he and his wife, Donna, feel is home.

His love of antiquing and woodworking introduced him to the Southport Antique Mall, and long time friend, Jane Haganman and her family and Mike Heimel of the Heimel Auction House in Beech Grove. Their friendship had lasted more than 30 years.

Larry enjoyed antiquing, wood working, reading and travel with his sister, Linda and brother in law, Bill.

Larry leaves behind to treasure his memory his wife, of 50 years, Donna L. (Lund) Jacobsen and many friends who will remember him with gratitude and affection.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester (Pat) and mother Rena and brothers-in-law, Bill Beinke (Linda) and Patrick Livingston (Denise). He is survived by his wife Donna (Lund) Jacobsen, sister Linda (Jacobsen) Beinke, nephews Dennis and Jason, sister in law, Denise (Lund) Livingston and nephew Eric and several great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Larry's life will be officiated by Adam Haganman, a pastor at Rocklane Christian Church and held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Larry will rest at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri, where his father is also interred along with his in-laws, Eric and Jean (Horsman) Lund - a meaningful return to the place where his family's legacy rests.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Larry's honor.

The family invites those who knew Larry to share their memories, photographs, and condolences online, helping to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive.
