Larry Wade began his earthly journey on Wednesday, August 29, 1956, son to Gilbert Johnson and Ethel Powell Johnson in Martinsville, Virginia. His parents, brothers: Willie Johnson, Carl Johnson, Wilbur Johnson and sister-in-law, Monica Hinton preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and after serving in the military, he settled in Clarksville, TN where he was a member of Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Larry was educated in the North Carolina Public School System. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served as a truck driver/motor transport from 1976 to being medically retired in 1981. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed employment with Walmart, K-Mart, Electrolux, Frigidaire, State Industries and construction.
On August 4, 1978, Larry united in holy matrimony with Bonita Pardue and this union was blessed with three children.
He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, joking around, always laughing and shopping. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Larry’s earthly journey ended as he transitioned to be with the Lord.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his devoted wife of 47 years, Bonita Johnson; daughter, Tara C. Brooks, Durham, NC; sons: Carl Johnson and Chano Pardue, both of Clarksville, TN; sisters: Bethel (Bill) Dixon, Holly Springs, NC, Linda (Wade) Johnson, Apex, NC and Patricia (Philip) Jons, Holly Springs, NC; brother, Clayton (Shirley) Johnson, Apex, NC; sisters-in-law: Ophratrue Johnson, Joy Hoosier, Sandra (Raymon) Mayfield and Kerano Pardue; brothers-in-law: Keith (Annette) Pardue,, Richard (Kara) Griffin and Vince Pardue; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
